Dave Buglass has spent 25 years turning “we should probably train people better” into multi-million-pound learning strategies that actually work — across Royal Bank of Scotland, Tesco, PwC, and now JPMorgan Chase, where he leads consumer and operational learning for 300+ people spanning the US, UK, Germany, India, and the Philippines.
Along the way, he’s rolled out global eLearning platforms to 10,000 people in 26 countries, led onboarding and service programmes that moved the needle on sales performance for an entire retail bank, and helped a 390,000-person organisation shave $2 million off its learning costs — all while somehow still having opinions about which cup of coffee is worth the walk.
A Fellow of the CIPD and holder of an MBA, Dave has picked up more industry hardware than he knows what to do with, including LPI’s Chief Learning Officer of the Year and back-to-back UK/Scotland L&D Professional of the Year awards. He also co-founded the Talent Gathering, Scotland’s first dedicated annual event for talent, recruitment and learning professionals – because apparently building learning strategies for a day job wasn’t enough. The event run annually in October is now one of the UKs (and top 100 globally) rated events.
