The World of Learning conference has long been recognised as the premier platform for sharing thought leadership and innovation in the Learning & Development (L&D) sector.

Hosted on 16 & 17 October at Birmingham’s NEC, this year’s conference programme has been carefully designed in collaboration with Martin Couzins, a specialist in L&D content creation and curation for over 10 years.

Senior L&D leaders from well-known global organisations will share insights about learning from the frontline of workforce performance and development. Within the comprehensive conference programme, Melanie Lepine, Head of Learning at Dixons Carphone, will examine how L&D can manage change and the evolving work environment in her presentation: The role of L&D as change makers.

Catherine Pinchen, Head of Strategy and Capability for Global Learning & Development at PwC, will advise delegates on how to work with stakeholders and the business to ‘get what you want’ as an L&D leader. Head of Talent at River Island, Nebel Crowhurst, will present with her colleague, Mike Collins, Senior Digital Learning Partner, on digital transformation in Learning & Development.

Visitors can also benefit from two lively and candid panel discussions with well-known names in the L&D sphere. Dr. Ben Betts, Nick Shackleton-Jones and Chris Littlewood will participate in a debate on AI, as they work to ‘distil the reality from the hype’, while Robin Hoyle, Andy Lancaster, Lorna Leeson and Dave Buglass will discuss ‘new roles and skills for learning teams’.

Robin Hoyle will also fill the post of conference Chair for the fourth consecutive year and deliver the closing keynote: Fighting fatigue: what can L&D do to energise employees around learning? Reviewing the conference programme, Robin comments:

“More than ever, the World of Learning conference will deliver a platform to demonstrate what successful organisations are doing now, today, to effectively and proficiently impact the performance of their people.

“L&D practitioners at the top of their game will examine key topics such as how we deal with content curation, how to engage line managers and integrate learning as part of workflow. Attention will also be turned to the future and the impact of technologies like AI so that we are prepared for what’s to come in 12 months to five years’ time.

“Critically, thanks to this well thought out programme, audiences will learn how to convert good intention into good outcome and will be empowered to take action immediately.”

Three delegate packages are available for the conference, ensuring it is accessible to a wide range of budgets and schedules. Delegates are encouraged to book early to benefit from a discount of up to 40% off until 6 July*. All conference delegates will benefit from access to a free video learning library from Clear Lessons, until the time of the conference. Platinum delegates will also get exclusive access to additional conference videos.
