Discover the great benefits of integrating Mindfulness practices into your busy day.

Mindful_BusinessOver the years that I’ve taught Mindfulness and Meditation techniques visiting many companies and schools, I have witnessed first hand the beneficial effects of this training for both individuals and their respective organizations.

Organisations across the world  now offer Mindfulness & Meditation training to their staff.  From creative companies based in Silicon Valley like Google and Facebook to more conservative companies like Deutsche Bank and McKinsy to the House of Commons & most recently the Legal Ombudsman based in Central Birmingham (see feedback here).

The training is really taking the world by storm (a peaceful one!) so let’s take a look at how these techniques are able to help you and your organization.

Mindfulness is a word that is being used more and more in the workplace:

Mindfulness is a non judgmental awareness of the present moment.

Training in Mindfulness techniques helps to bring us gradually into the present moment, as  a result many of our stresses and worries begin to dissolve away.

If you reflect right now…where are most of my worries and anxieties coming from?

Usually they arise from something to do with the past or the future.

If we are fully in the here and now, then many of our worries will simply fade away.

When our mind is distracted from the present moment, not only do we experience more stress and anxiety, we’re less focused on the task at hand, thus our work suffers & we miss many valuable moments and opportunities within our life.

Many companies struggle with presenteeism – their staff turning up for work but only being 50% there – one part of their mind is focused on work and the other half is focus on our mobile, Facebook, what we’re going to do later, what someone has said to us, or just a general cloud of distraction.

This kind of distraction not only effects our life at work slowing down our opportunity for progression but also our personal relationships and our general sense of satisfaction with life.

Mindfulness practice helps to begin to resolve these issues.

Learning a series of Mindfulness techniques initiates the process of training our mind, so we can bring ourself gently into the present moment, this process naturally allow us to let go of the stress that we carry in our body.

Gradually we experience a great sense of calm and well being. The tension in our mind begins to dissolve away and we feel happier.

The benefits of Mindfulness and Meditation can be experienced by anyone regardless of how busy our life is.

There is a growing body of scientific research documenting the great effects of training in Mindfulness and Meditation techniques which you can discover here.

This evidence gives the greatest skeptics an interest in training in these ancient practices, making them accessible, less of an alternative practice and more of a necessary tool for dealing with the challenges of modern life.

Training in Mindfulness is a training of the mind.

Our mind can be taught beneficial habits.

If we become familiar with living in the present moment every part of our life can become more fulfilling and enjoyable – our well being at home and work improves.

This helps us and the company that we work for.

Mind Space offer both companies and individuals the opportunity to train in these techniques.

We can provide your company with an Introduction to the Training and then if there is interest an 8 week course which can help you discover the benefits of the practice in the workplace. This programme also provides you with follow up resources which your staff can practice at home.

We also offer online courses, workshops and retreats for individuals who wish to pursue a practice for themselves outside of the workplace.
