Head of Colleague Development
Melanie is the newly appointed Head of Colleague Development for Dixons Carphone, supporting approx. 28,000 front line colleagues across Retail, Services, Commercial and Corporate in UK and Ireland, she has a clear focus on innovation and change within Learning to bring the customer experience to life and achieve business objectives.
Prior to joining Dixons Carphone, Melanie spent the first 10yrs of her career in Tesco Retail, initially in store as a Training Manager and Personnel Manager, and later moving into regional roles project managing operational, behavioural and cultural change and finally moving into an HR director role.
Subsequently, Melanie moved to American Express where she spent the next nine years specialising in Learning, achieving her CIPD Advanced Diploma in HRD and ultimately her FCIPD status. Leading learning initially across European markets and then moving into a Global Strategy role for learning delivery, Melanie developed a real expertise for the virtual world (learning and leadership), for standardising and aligning learning whilst demonstrating improved speed to competence and metric driven results as well as the ability to combine learning objectives with business objectives to drive results across a matrixed organisation with a culturally diverse audience.
Her final role for American Express was as Director, Global Learning Delivery for Travel and Lifestyle Services, leading a team of 90 learning professionals across 23 markets worldwide.
