Dr. Ruby Woodward is a Medical Education and Healthcare Innovation Specialist with expertise in the evidence-based design, evaluation, and adoption of immersive technologies for health professions education and simulation-based learning. Her work focuses on creating impactful, evidence-based immersive learning experiences that drive learning within real-world clinical and training workflows. A former NHS doctor, Ruby’s expertise is grounded in an MBBS, an MSc in Psychology, and her doctoral research at the University of Cambridge, which centred on the evidence-based design and evaluation of extended reality (XR) enhanced simulation. Ruby now advises and collaborates with NHS, academic, and industry partners to strategically design, evaluate, and scale pedagogically rigorous XR solutions, ensuring they are medically sound and aligned with real-world learning needs. She is a guest lecturer at the University of Cambridge, and speaks nationally and internationally on the design and evaluation of immersive technologies in education.
